Your voice matters in shaping Maternity and Neonatal care across our community.

Who We Are

The Frimley and Wexham Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership, or FWMNVP, is an NHS group of parents, midwives, doctors, commissioners and other interested  parties. The group is led by a service user to make sure that parent voices are at the forefront , but everyone is working together with a shared aim.

The group includes parents who have recently used maternity and neonatal services and people who support families during pregnancy and early parenthood. Their insight helps us understand what families need and guides meaningful improvements.

We work with local families, maternity staff and community groups to help shape maternity and neonatal care across the Frimley and Wexham areas.

What we do

We listen to families across the area and gather honest feedback about their maternity care. This includes experiences from early pregnancy through to the first weeks after birth. Feedback is shared anonymously with maternity leadership and commissioners. Then quality improvement projects, based on the feedback, are planned together and put into place so services can keep improving.

We stay connected throughout the whole maternity journey, from pregnancy planning, your first booking appointment and scans, throughout pregnancy and your early postnatal care. Your experiences help us understand what is working well and where change is needed.

Your feedback has already supported real improvements including Homebirth services, improved visiting times for the Antenatal and Postnatal wards, creating a new Trust maternity website, the development of an Antenatal Education program for everyone using Frimley Trust Maternity and specific information and support for parents of babies using the Neonatal Unit.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy care includes your appointments with midwives, scans, checks, and the information and support you receive while preparing for birth.

Birth

Birth care covers your experience during labour and birth, the support from your midwifery team, and how safe, informed, and supported you felt.

Postnatal

Postnatal care includes the help you receive in the days and weeks after your baby is born, from feeding support to recovery and settling at home.

Neonatal

Neonatal care is the specialist support provided when a baby needs extra medical help after birth, from time in a neonatal unit to follow up care for your family.

Past projects

Here is a small selection of projects the MNVP were involved with last year: supporting the ongoing development of the My Frimley Health app to include timely pregnancy, antenatal, and education notifications; collaborating with senior leadership on the purchase of the Real Birth Company antenatal education platform, open to all Frimley Trust users; and supporting the launch of the new Trust website.

Work with us

We welcome people who have used local maternity services or who support women currently using them. Joining us as a user representative gives you the opportunity to share insight, strengthen community voices, and help shape meaningful change. Our team includes around 20 paid representatives across Frimley and Wexham, with strong representation from Black, Asian, ethnic minority and Muslim communities. Their lived experience and professional contribution are central to our work, and we continue to welcome new representatives who want to make a difference.

If you would like to get involved, you can register your interest using the form below.
